WIND Designation Program Code of Ethics

PREAMBLE
The use of designations to recognize insurance professionals has grown extensively. Insurance professionals
holding a designation therefore undertake serious responsibilities to the public, as well as to the other
insurance professionals. Those responsibilities include important ethical obligations. This Code sets forth
generally accepted standards of ethical conduct for the guidance of insurance professionals, in the hope of
contributing to the maintenance of high standards and continued confidence in the insurance industry.

NOTE ON CONSTRUCTION
All provisions of this Code should be read as subject to contrary provisions of applicable law. They should
also be read as subject to contrary agreements of the parties. Nevertheless, this Code imposes no obligation
on any Windstorm Insurance Network professional to act in a manner inconsistent with the fundamental
duty to preserve integrity and fairness.

CANON I.
AN INSURANCE PROFESSIONAL SHOULD UPHOLD INTEGRITY AND FAIRNESS
     A. A Windstorm Insurance Network professional must observe high standards of conduct so that the integrity
and fairness will be preserved. Accordingly, the Windstorm professional should recognize a responsibility
to the public and to other insurance professionals.

     B. Windstorm Insurance Network professionals should conduct themselves in a way that is fair to all parties
and should not be swayed by outside pressure, public clamor, and fear of criticism or self-interest.

CANON II.
AN INSURANCE PROFESSIONAL SHOULD CONDUCT THEIR BUSINESS FAIRLY AND DILIGENTLY

They should be diligent, patient, courteous, and fair to their customers/clients, their fellow insurance professionals,and others; and, he or she should always encourage similar conduct by all.

CANON III.
AN INSURANCE PROFESSIONAL SHOULD BE FAITHFUL AND 
TRUSTWORTHY
     A. A Windstorm Insurance Network professional should keep confidential all matters of private information.
