The workshop will focus on effective preparation for arbitration, navigation of the hearing; and how to successfully use non-binding arbitration as a tool for resolving wind/property claims. Information will be delivered through an interactive, balanced panel discussion.

Webinar: Components and Cladding (Windows, Doors, Roofing, etc.) Wind Load Calculations and Repair/Replacement

This webinar is designed to educate engineering and insurance industry professionals on the analysis of wind data in determining causes of damage and repairability of building components, particularly fenestrations. We will include a review of the most current ASCE 7-22 standards related to the calculation of component and cladding wind loads on individual building elements such as siding, windows and doors, roofs, etc. ASCE-7 is the reference standard in modern model codes such as IBC, FBC, etc.

Attendees will:

  • Understand various sources of weather and wind data
  • Understand the most common indicators of wind damage on building components
  • Identify relevant ASCE 7-22 standards related to structural / wind design loads
  • Understand the elements and variables in component and cladding calculations
  • Understand AAMA standards and fenestration testing protocols
  • Understand key considerations in determining repairability vs. replacement of windows and doors
